" BROWN ON RESOLUTION" The Gaumont-British studios, which have of late produced so many excellent films, ha\'e in their latest production, "Brown on Resolution," which will be shown for the first time on Friday at the Civic Theatre, surpassed their former efforts. The story is strongly reminiscent of the great drama "East Lynn" in that Elizabeth Brown (Betty Balfour), after a four-day romance with a young naval officer, is banished from her home, and she is determined that her son will become a sailor. The second part of the story is a graphic picture of the exploits of this son, one Albert Brown, as an able seaman in H.M.S. Rutland. The film is remarkable because of the fine battle "shots" which are shown, and the story, though slight, is extremely powerful, with the spirit of patriotism strongly imbued in it.
