DEFENCES OF MALTA NAVAL CONCENTRATION MORE TROOPS TO SAIL By Tcleprraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received Ausiust 26. (5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 20 Although practically the whole of the Mediterranean Fleet is at Malta, the War Office denies that it proposes to strengthen it. The Daily Mirror says the owners of the liner Neuralia, the BritishIndia Steam Navigation Company, have ordeied the vessel to be prepared to receive 1200 troops for Malta. The Neutalia's crew will receive a few days off instead of six weeks. The troops will embark on August 31, possibly sooner. The War Office states that it intends to bring Malta's defences to the level approved last year.
