The objects of the Bill are to amend "The Auckland Metropolitan Milk Act. 1933,'' by: (a) Extending the Auckland Metropolitan Milk District to include the Borough of Otahuhu, the Roud Districts of Panmure and Mt. Wellington, the Auckland Domain and Hospital Reserve, and the Ports of Auckland and Manukt.u. (b) Amending certain provisions as to voting powers of Dairymen and Milk Vendors. (0) Empowering the Council to make a special levy as security for any Bpeciai loan. (d) Requiring licences in certain cases affecting district milk supply not previously provided for, also to bring or send ice cream into thci District. (e) Making further provision for the regulation by the Council of the supply and distribution of milk and for ensuring compliance with its price-fixing regulations. (f) Empowering the Council to assume the sole right to purchase milk for the District. (g) Empowering the Council to treat, sell and distribute milk and cream and carry on certain other operations connected therewith. (h) Empowering the Council to compensate roundsmen whoso liconces are cancelled or restricted or to purcliaso and dispose of milk rounds for the purpose of consolidation, (1) Generally making provision enabling the Council more effectively to achieve the purposes of the principal Act. The above Bill will be introduced into Parliament by or on behalf of the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council.
