THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE 'HESITANT TONE DEVELOPS \ hesitant tone developed on the Auckland Stork. Exchange yesterday and downward movements occurred in several prominent issues. Others, however, were firm. Reclines of TOs occurred in the sale prices of 1916 and 1019 4 per cent slock, but inquiry was unchanged to Stronger for all 4 per cent; issues. The 3} per cents, on the other hand, were a shade weaker. Levels for /banks were generally easier and no business was done. In | the insurance market a gain of 4s ' orer t ] ie past two months was regis- i " tered by Qiieenslands, which were placed at 60s. New Zealands changed hands twice at the ruling rate, 675, but later eased to sell at 60s 6d. i A feature was the sharp fall in Mortgage Corporations. After business w as done at 6s 4d and 6s 3d, offers dropped to 6s, while supplies were available 4d lower at 6s 4d. Auckland Gas showed a further decline, holders ' dropping 2d to 2os 10d, without attracting buyers. A marked weakening occurred in Consolirlnterl Bricks, sales being made down to lis 3d, with more supplies available at that price. Broken Hills rose 6d on sale at 66s 6d, while Wilsons Cements \yere taken twice at 42s 6d. unchanged. CLOSING QUOTATIONS
