FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA
KINGSFORD SMITH'S PLANS OVERHAUL OF MACHINE LOS ANGELES. Aug. 23 After a complete overhaul Sir Charles Kingsford Smith made a test (light in the Lady Southern Cross to-day. He expressed pleasure at the performance of the machine and plans to hop off for New York on August 29. Thence he will ship the aeroplane to England. He hopes to start on his flight to Australia on October 15.
