MAORI FAITH-HEALER
VISIT MADE TO WAIROA BIG GATHERING AT NUHAKA [BY TELEGRArU —OWN CORRESPONDENT] GISBORNE, Thursday The Maori people, ever ready to receive and entertain parties of visitors, political or otherwise, have now welcomed Ratana, the faith-healer, who arrived at Wairoa on Tuesday with a large party of followers and was engaged at YVaihirere Pa on Wednesday. Ratana loft in the afternoon for Nuhaka, where extensive preparations have been made to celebrate the birthday of the late Sir James Carroll, ariki of the Ngati-Kahungunu tribe. Representatives will be present from all parts ■ u Coast, and interspersed with sports events will be discussions on many matters connected with the coming general election, po far as it affects Maori interests.
