FORMER RUGBY PLAYER
| MR. F. W. LUCAS' DEPARTURE i The former Auckland and New Zealand representative Rugby player, Mr. F. W. Lucas, will leave Auckland for 'Hamilton next week, having accepted a business appointment there. A member of the Ponsonby Club, Mr. Lucas represented New Zealand from 1923 to 1930. He was a member of the All Blacks during the tour of Great Britain in 1924 and of South Africa in 1925. When the British team visited New Zealand in 1930 ho again repre- | sunted the Dominion, but the following year ho retired from active participation in the game. Since 1930 he has acted as a coach to the Ponsonby Club. In the past few years Mr. Lucas has taken a keen interest in tennis and golf. He has been a prominent member j of the Remuera Tennis Club, and has won the Auckland B grade championship. As a member of the Titirangi Golf Club he qualified for play in the NewZealand championship at Auckland three years ago. For a number of years Mr. Lucas has been employed by Milne and Choyee, Limited. He has been appointed manager of the Hamilton branch of Hugh Wright, Limited.
