TAKAPUNA BOATING CLUB .. DISTRIBUTION OF PRIZES J'ho Takapuna Boating Club, said Captain H. 11. Sergeant, at the annual distribution of prizes, was now 14 years old and each season appeared to bo better than the last one. The club was doing excellent work in fostering the smaller classes, as the boys soon took up larger boats. The Trevic Shield, presented by Mr. W. A. Johnston, also created great interest among the clubs. Mr. Sergeant congratulated the Vietoria Cruising Club on its win. Mr. A Braund, commodore, said the past season had been n good one. The entries for the regatta totalled 100, which constituted a record for Uio club, and no protests were received. The crew sent to Tauranga to compete for the Cornwell Cup was not successful The annual inter-club races for the Trevic Shield and the Goodfellowship Cups created keen interest, and this year two ot the three cups were won In challenging clubs Tli* Mayor, Mr. Ernest Davis, paid a tribute to the good work of the commodore and his fellow officers and committee. Mr. Braurut presented .Mrs. F. W. Jeliers with a framed enlargement of the clubhouse as a token of appreciation of her assistance in placing her motor-yacht Nyria at the disposal of the club on regatta day. I'he most important prizes were won by the following:—Trevic Shield, presented by Mr W. A. .Johnston for in-ter-club contests, Delphine, Victoria Cruising Club; Winstone trophy, Rebel, Bell-Booth Cup, Te Utu; Blomfiold Shield. Te Utu; Fortzer Cup, Trevic; Lawless Shield (forward hand at tiller), Te Utu; best kept boat, Tauhau: Sports Cup for most improved forward hand, G. Reid; Goodfellowship Cups, Takapuna against Tamaki, Tamaki; Takapuna against Ponsonby, Ponsonby; Takapuna against Manukau, Takapuna; Junior Harmony Cup, Manukau,against Takapuna, Takapuna.
