CRICKET
ALBION CLUB, TAURANGA [by telegraph—own correspondent] TAURANGA, Tuesday There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Albion Cricket Club. The report on tha past season's activities stated that the Albion team was successful in winning the Baker Cup, awarded for the Tauranga County senior grade competition. A challenge match was played for the Williams Cup against Ngongotahiv Club (the holder) rtt Ngongotaha, tho Albion team being narrowly defeated. A friendly match against the Katikati Club at Katikati was won by Albion. The balance-sheet showed the finances to be in a satisfactory position. Officers for the ensuing season were elected as follows-.--Patron, Mr. E. T. Baker; president. Mr. D. A. lvai»; vice-presidents, Dr. J. B. MacDiarmid, Messrs. I\. J. Rennie, J. A. Guinness, C B. Burton, H. S. Biggir, H. Whitwortn, IT. P. Anderson, J. Heald; captain, Mr. R. W. B. Cairns; vice-captain. Mr. 1). Sinclair; hou. secretary and treasurer, Mr. i:i. Jeffery; committee, Messrs. R. W. B. Cairns, D. Sinclair, H. Jeffery. S. Randeil and R. Hunter; selection committee, Messrs. S. Randeil and R. W B. Cairns; delegates to tho Tauranga County Cricket Association, Messrs. N. Jeffery and R. W. B. Cairns; scorer, Mr. H. Turner. Seven new members were elected. A vote of thanks was accorded to Miss Cairns for her gift of a cricket bat. The chairman, Mr. S. Randeil, presented Mr. D. Sinclair with a cisarette case, which was given by Mr. E. Klifscher for the highest batting average for the past season. It was decided that the club colours be royal blue, with & yellow, monogram.
