FRESH MILK INTERESTS
ACT AMENDMENTS OPPOSED EFFECT ON SMALL FARMERS A plan of campaign to oppose the powers sought by the Milk Council in the proposed amendments to the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Act was explained by the executive of the Auckland Fresh Milk Producers and Vendors' Association at a meeting of fresh milk interests yesterday. It was contended that if the amendments became law it would mean that a large number of small farmers would be forced off their farms to swell the ranks of unemployed. Consumers would be deprived of any choice as to what vendors might serve them with milk.
A unanimous vote was passed endorsing the actions of the executive and expressing eontinued confidence in it.
