UNITED LISTENERS
ANNUAL MEETING OF CLUB OFFICERS FOR THE YEAR The necessity for increasing the membership of the club nith the object of securing improvements in broadcasting in New Zealand was urged upon members of the United Listeners' Club at the annual meeting, held in the Unity Hall last night. There were about 50 members present. Mr. A. Thompson presided. Heference was made in the report to the part the executive had played in procuring a reduction of 5s in the annual licence fee, tho extension in the length of the breakfast session from YA stations, and listeners' representation on the new Broadcasting Board. The statement of accounts showed a small excess of income over expenditure. Membership fees produced a total of £lO7. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. R. H. Bartley; president, Mr. H. B. Arthur; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. G. Walker and H. W. Tidman; committee, Messrs. F. Druce, C. Avenell, T. Walsh, J. 12. Griffiths and W. H. J. Oliver; secretary, Mr. H. White; treasurer, Mr. H. J. Dixon; honorary solicitor, Mr. R. P. Hunt; auditors, Messrs. Gilfillan and Gentles.
