SOCIETIES AMALGAMATE UNITY IN FUTURE CONTROL The completion of arrangements for the amalgamation of the Animal Welfare Association and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was announced by Mr. H. It. Harper, deputy-chairman of the society's executive committee, at a gathering of members of the society yesterday. " Wo have lately made a very important forward move," said Mr. Harrier. "As you aro all aware, the Animal Welfare Association was started some three yoars ago by members of the >.P.C.A. at a time when there was .much • lissonsion and strife in the society. I lm v«ry pleased indeed to be able to nform you that arrangements have been linalised for an amalgamation of the Animal Welfaro Association with the S.P.C.A." Ho said members of the association tvould automatically become members of ;lio society. It was definitely in the interests of animals thjxt the two organisations should work together as one.
