NIAGARA'S CARGO

AUSTRALIAN SHIPMENTS TRANSFER TO THE MARAMA The -Royal Mail liner Niagara, which arrived from Vancouver yesterday morning, brought about 3000 tons of general merchandise from Canada. Of that amount about 2000 tons is for Auckland and the remainder for Sydney. All the cargo will be unloaded at Auckland and the cargo for Australia will be transhipped to Sydney by the Marama. Owing to the Niagara's collision near Victoria with the motor-ship King Egbert and the repairs to the vessel in dock at Esquimalt a general average of 6 per cent has been declared on the cargo for Auckland and Australia. The Niagara will load at Auckland Australian cargo which is being brought from Sydney by the Marama due from Wellington to-morrow. On account of the largo amount of cargo to be discharged and loaded the Niagara's sailing for Suva, Honolulu and Vancouver has been postponed until nine o'clock to-morrow night, instead of five o'clock.
