INTOXICATION CHARGE WARNING FROM THE BENCH A salesman, whose name was suppressed, was convicted and fined £lO in the Otahuhu Police Court on Saturday on a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car. Messrs. C. R. Petrie and J. V. Lawes were on the Bench. Sergeant J. Cahil! said accused had been apprehended by Mr. F. Jones, traffic inspector to the Manukau County Council, at Papatoetoe, on Friday evening. The inspector's attention had been drawn to accused by the erratic course of his car. He had been medically examined and certified unfit to have charge of a motor vehicle. Accused pleaded guilty and submitted pleas in extenuation. On being informed that accused had been previously convicted 011 a similar offence, the Bench warned him that he would be committed to prison without a fine option should he again appear. Accused, who consented to taking out a prohibition order for 12 months, was ordered to pay costs totalling lis 6d.
