CASE OF MRS. PATTON DECISION BY THE CROWN (Received August 8, 10.55 p.m.) MELBOURNE. Aug. 8 The Crown has entered a nolle prosequi in tho case of Mrs. >Edna Patton. Mrs. Edna Eula Patton was Committed for triar on July 10 on 13 charges alleging that sho # had converted money to her own use while she was president of the Catilfield Ladies .Benevolent Society. Mrs. Patton, who is the wife of Dr. Jl. T. Patton. Doctor o Science at Melbourne University, denied all the charges. In the course of her evidence Mrs. Patton said she considered the prosecution was spiteful. She had never retained any money from tho society.
