COMMONS ADJOURNS
THE SUMMER RECESS REASSEMBLY OCTOBER 29 British Wireless RUGBY, Aug. 2 The House of Commons adjourned today until October 29. The practice, which has become usual in recont years, of providing in a resolution for an earlier convocation by the Speaker on representation being made by the Government that such a course is necessary in the public interest, was followed. Reference to this provision was made by the Foreign Secretary, Sir Samuel Hoare, at the end of last night's debate on international affairs,\ in reply to a member who asked if Parliament would be called together in the event of a grave crisis arising out of the situation of deep and genuine anxiety to which Sir Samuel had alluded earlier. The Prime Minister, Mr. Baldwin, has an engagement to speak in the country at the week-end, after which he hopes to leave for a holiday at Aix-les-Bains, and it has been arranged that during his absence abroad Mr. Mac Donald will be acting-Prime Minister.
