BOULDER ON RAILWAY
TWO YOUTHS ARRESTEp SEQUEL TO RAIL-CAR MISHAP [by telegraph OWN correspondent] PAXiMERSTOX NORTH, Sunday Almost a week of exhaustive inquiries into the mystery surrounding the presence of a boulder on the railway track just south of Feilding on July 28," resulted in the arrest yesterday morning of two youths. The boulder, whidh weighed 371b., was struck by the rail motor-car, conveying Mr. G. H. Mackley, general manager of railways, and an official party to Wellington, and although the vehicle pulled up quickly, it was slightly damaged. Following information received by the police, a thorough investigation was made by Sergeant Angland, Constable Ruddle and other members of the force. Tho elder of the two youths, aged 19, appeared before Mr. R. M. Watson, S.M., at Feilding, yesterday afternoon, charged under the Crimes Act with placing an obstruction on the railway line at Feilding on July 28. On the application of the police, accused was remanded until Tuesday morning. Bail was allowed. The younger boy will be dealt with by the Children's Court.
