MINIATURE CHAMPIONSHIPS SOUTH ISLAND COMPETITIONS [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] TIM ABU, Saturday The South Island miniature rifle shooting cfhatnpionshipa were held at Timnru this afternoon and evening. There were large entries from all parts of the island. Splendid shooting was witnessed in the individual championship.' which was won by J. D. Edmonds, of Sumner, after a second shootoff with H. Barker, of Sydenham. The following secured the double possible: —Edmonds (Sumner), Barker (Sydenham), A. R. Agnes (Timaru), W. Taylor (Pleasant Point). Seven others were one point down. The South Island ladies' championship resulted Miss T. Rule (Orari Bridge). 1: Mrs. Ronnie (Oairiaru), '2; Mrs. Harper (Christchurch). 3. The teams' championship resulteddenary. 395 (N. Gibson 80. C. Fleming 80. N. Fleming 80, J. Purdie 79, D. McCulloch 70), 1; Timaru 394. and Pleasant Point, 301, equal, 2. At the annual meeting of the South Island Miniature Rifle Association Mr. W. H. Wharton, of Christchurch, was elected patron, Mr. W. Duncan (Timaru), president, and Mr. J. Faulkner (Willowbridge), vice-presi-dent. WHANGAREI MINIATURE CLUB [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Saturday The Whangarei Miniature Rifle Club held a shoot last night, points being recorded for the H. F. Buckley and J.
