RUGBY FOOTBALL

SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP TO-MORROW'S ATTRACTIONS CONTESTS AT EDEN PARK With every likelihood of the Auckland Eugby Union's senior championship competition being severely curtailed, on account of the approach- . ing Ranfurly Shield matches, the teams at present near the top of the list are hound to make their most determined efforts on tho two or three Saturdays remaining at their disposal. Tho games set down for to-morrow, thereforo, should attract more than usual interest. There will bo three senior contests at Eden Park, Grafton and Otahuhu being given pride of place on the oval at 3 p.m. Otaj huhu is leading at present, level with Grammar, and its bright typo of football has much favour with the Eden Park patrons. Both teams will bo without the services of All Blacks ami with Grafton the most weakened tho chances of Otahuhu adding to its points appear bright. Munukau untl University will meet on No. 2 ground, iind an even contest appeure likely, with the odds slightly in favour of University. College Rifles and Technical Old .Boys will occupy -No. 3 ground and the latter should prevail, although the College llitles team hus put up some good games recently. Grammar, the other leadnig team, will bo opposed to Marist at the Show Grounds, and the former should record a win. It will not have to take matters too easily, however, as Marist is always likely to effect a surprise. The curtain-raiser on No. 1 ground at Eden Park will bo provided by tho first fifteens of the Auckland Grammar School and the Hamilton High School.
