South Auckland representatives at Bledisloe Park yesterday by 27 points to 21. In the scrums and line-outs Auckland did excellently in sending the ball back to their half, R. Aro, who made opening after opening for ibis side -irith smart passing on some occasions and quick cutting-in on others. The Auckland backs all handled well, and at one stage appeared likely to pile up a runaway score. Auckland also did creditably with line kicks and in the way in which they found open spaces with their field kicks. South Auckland's tackling and combination improved as the game progrensed and its score mounted. Auckland's dash appeared to have been smothered, but the visitors flashed, out again in bright open play in the last few minutes, arid made their win decisive. Of the South Auckland side. J. Massey and B. Guise shoued outstanding ability in the forwards, while G. Hewitt, at wing-threequarter, was the best back. t The home team opened the scoring. After forcing down, it worked play to twenty-five. The ball came out to Hewitt,' who cut in and Tan over between the posts. Newdick converted. Brilliant passing by Auckland—the backs handling right across —ended in Wales going over on the wing twice in succession. Mabima, nipped out a long pass to J. Rata, at five-eighths, and he cut in. beating the wing and the fullback, to score wide out. Auckland infringed near its own line, and from a rather difficult angle Guise made the best of tho free kick by goaling. Passing right across from a scrum, the Auckland back line had the opposition bustled. Keeping near the ball as it was handed across field, the forwarda joined in. Anderson regaining possession on the wing and passing the last opponent. He turned straight infield as he crossed the line and, maintaining his dash, put the ball down behind the posts. Beyer groaled.

Handling in short passes. South Auckland worked through Auckland's defence, Hewitt scoring wide' out. Guise again added the extra two points.
