SUSPENSION OF PLAYERS INJURED MAN'S ACTION . REPRESENTATIVES SELECTED The representative programme which is to follow- next Saturday's club matches was discussed at last evening's meeting of the Auckland Rugby League, when arrangements were confirmed for the playing of a series of trial matches on August 3. The chairman, Mr. G. Grey Campbell, said the Auckland League would co-operate with the New Zealand Council, and he was keen to see the best Auckland team fit to play the Australians early in September. Mr. Campbell further stated that another Auckland trial match would be played as a curtain-raiser to the North v. South Island match on August 17. Mr. A. McClymont was appointed coach to the Auckland teams.

Tlie cases of four senior players ordered off in last Saturday's match at Carlaw Park were discussed at some length in committee. Mr. Campbell subsequently stated that the detailed report cf the incidents had been carefully considered, and Herring (Mount Albert) and Carter had been suspended for one playing baturday. Haßaan and Flanagan were severely cautioned. The City Club wrote drawing attention to an incident in the match against Newton seniors last Saturday. A City player was racing for a try, when a Newton player, injured on the side-line, rushed in and tackled the City player. "It was just as well City won," said a member, "as an important point would have been raised." Mr. W. Mincham read the. rule in connection with the point as follows:—"When a player is injured and leaves the field of play, he can only return when the ball is deac, and then under the notice of the referee. '

It was decided to communicate with, the Eeferoes' Association in the matter. Mr. J. W. Probert, a delegate, who leaves Auckland on Saturday for America, was farewelled by the chairman.
