The victory was largely due to the forwards' excellent efforts, and an outstanding game played by Smith, on the wing. The score indicates the evenness of the play, and it was Brodrick's try which clinched the match, although the visitors were hardpressed to keep Queensland out in the dying stages. The Maoris were again well beaten ia the scrums, but the forwards were better in all other e epartmenta. Harrison and Cooper wore in particularly good form with Brodrick and Mataira next. Smith saved the Maoris time and again by his ruggettaess,, throwing the Queensland backs ofl like sacks of chaff. Nepia was brilliant, especially in ' the final stages. The other backs had! few chances owing to a lack of the ball on the day. The .Maoris have definitely improved and should finish i;hoir tour without further defeat. There was another crowd of over 10,000, and perfect weather prevailed. Queensland's Early Try Suter scored a try for Queensland immediately and Donnely converted. The gate rboeipts on July 13 totalled £651, and yesterday they totalled £530. The Queensland unioa reaps a profit of £4OO on the visit.
