PAKURANGA HUNT

GOOD SPORT AT HOMAI Excellent sport was obtained by the Pakuranga Hnnt at its meet at Hotnai on Saturday. There was an attendance of about 60 followers, who were taken several long runs over fairly level country. There was & cold wind, but ground conditions were excellent. A hare was first put up on Sir , Clutha Mackenzie's property, and the hunt was taken in a itast run across [ the farms of Messrs. G. Booth, H. i Masters, V. Rogers and L. Sharpe, and | then in a circle to Mr. J. G. Grower's i farm, where it was eventually killed. ! Later the hunt moved on to Mr. T. Scott's farm, where another hare was put up which ran through Mr. W. J. Smith's property toward Russell Road and then back across the Homai Road and through Mr. J. Dreadon's farm to Mr. W. McLaughlin's farm, where the hounds had to oe whipped off. The hunt then moved to the other side of the Weymouth Road, and hounds threw off on Mr. K. Finlayson's property. At the back of the homestead strong hare was put up and this took the hunt across Mr; J. Hayes' farm, through Mr. Griffin's farm, and back across the Weymouth Road into some small holdings, where the hounds had to be stopped.
