NORTH ISLAND CONFERENCE DECISION TO GO INTO RECESS [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] PALMERSTON NORTH, Sunday The announcement that the North Island Agricultural and Pastoral Conference had gone into recess was made by Mr. L. J. Wild, of Feilding, president of the Royal Agricultural Society, on Saturday. Mr. Wild explained that following upon the reorganisation of the Royal society last year, and the establishment of district councils, agricultural and pastoral associations in the Auckland province had withdrawn from tho conference, which then found itself dependent upon those associations in the southern half of the island.
In all probability the eastern and western councils of the Royal society, which cover the Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa, Manawatu and Taranaki areas, would continue to carry on the work that in the past had been done by the conference.
