ORANGES FOR AUCKLAND
NORFOLK ISLAND FRUIT FIRST FOR THREE YEARS The first shipment of oranges to arrive from Norfolk Island for three years reached Auckland by the Union Company's steamer Kairanga on Friday night The shipment comprised 2300 cases, which were landed in good condition. Some which were offered at auction sold readily at the markets on Saturday morning The remainder of the shipment will be sold to-day, A hurricane which swept the Cook Islands early this year, destroying the bulk of the orange crop, led the New Zealand Government to lift, the embargo on the import of Australian oranges, including those from Norfolk Island, imposed in December, 1932. Several consignments have already arrived from the Commonwealth
