" MORRINSVILLE VALUES 5 • i. .v r; ; ; /J • j FAT CATTLE SCARQE SMALL ENTRY OF SHEEP , The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reports that at its woekl.v Morrinsville stock side held yesterday a small entry of sheep, comprising mostly fat lambs, came forward. A smaller' yarding of cow and heifer beef also came forward, with, no ox beef yarded, Good quality cattle were scarce, while second quality w.ere in firm demand. Freshconditioned and boner cows sold at late rates. The advertised entry of store bullocks attracted local and, outside buyers in large numbers, and competition was spirited throughout. Although the cattle wero not carrying as much condition as some buyers would have liked, the whole entry changed hands at advanced firm rates. The satisfactory average of £5 lis was secured for the whole of the Wairoa cattle. A large yarding of dairy cattle again came forward, including a big proportion of dairy heifers. There was fair competition throughout, aud all heifer* close to prof.t realised satisfactory prices. One line of 25 heifers on account of Mr. E. Harney averaged £o K». Dairy cows, which were not of good Quality, were not keenly sought. A small entry of fat pigs sold to buttermilk buyers. TE KAUWHATA CLEARANCE G. W. Vercoc and Company, Limited, reports having held a clearing sale on account of the estate of W. Mills, at Tc Kauwhata, yesterday. Buyers were pwaent from Waihou, Walton, Thames. Pukekohe, Hauraki Plains and the surrounding districts and the herd, which was submitted in first-class condition, sold readily at prices fully equal to those which have been ruling at outside sales. A feature of this sale was the keen demand for Shorthorn and Friesian cows. HORSES AT MORRINSVILLE The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering, Company, Limited, reports having held its llorrinsville horse sale on Wednesday, when a large entry of horses of all classes, including a good percentage of the better-class animal, came forward. There was a large attendance of buyers from all parts of the Waikato, and also further afield. Good reliable young farm horses and unbrokens received most attention, selling readily at late advanced figures. In some cases vendors' reserves were too high to sell under the hammer, but in most instances satisfactory deals were completed privately. A feature of the sale was the extra good demand for draught foals, one particularly good filly foal selling at £36. There was a small offering and olthough there was a poor demand for fat shesp, keen interest was taken by buyers in the sale of store sheep. Prices were well maintained at recent rates. For the entry of 200 fat ewes there was a poor demand except for two outstanding pens, Which made 15s 2d and 16s sd. Otherwise ewes ranged from 10s 4d to 12s 3d. The tone of the store sheep market was bright' for all classes with late rates fully maintained. There" was keen competition for all good lines of breeding ewes, several pens ranging Xrom 20s to 24s 9d. Good pens with failing mouths sold to 18s. Attractive hoggets realised lfis to 17s 3d, Empty ewes, which are easing in sympathy with fat sheep, made 6s 2d to 9s 7d for good forward lines.
