Thursday An amateur wrestling tournament waa held at Hikutaia by the Thames Association in conjunction witli the Hikutaia Club Inst evening. Results:— A. Burnett (Omnhu), 8.12), and H. Avery (Hikutnin), 8.12. drew after nn extra round had been ordered; G, Smith (Poriri), 9,5, defeated G, Robinson (Hikutaia), 9.6, by n submission fn 11 gained in the first round; B. Watene (Kopu), 11.2. defented O. Hcslop (H'kutnia), 11.0, on points; X. Smith (Pn'riri), 8.10. defeated K. McNeil (Omnhu). 8.12, on points; C. Avery (Hikutaia), 10.12, defented D. Rendel (Omnhu), 11.0, on point*. The final bout, between G Avery (Hikutaia), 10.fi. and J. Rure (Hikutaia), 10.12. terminated unexpectedly in the Inst round when the ring collapsed. Until this time the bout had been fast and willing and a draw was declared.
