A HEAVY LIFT: BIRKENHEAD VEHICULAR FERRY GANGWAY REPLACED BY THE FLOATING CRANE The Auckland Harbour Board's floating crane Mahua conveying the Birkenhead vehicular ferry gangway across the harbour from the Western Viaduct yesterday to replace it in position. The gangway was removed last month to enable the steel pontoon, upon which it rests, to be overhauled.
