REMARKABLE FORTITUDE
GALLANT DOCTOR HONOURED Dr. Vitruvius Harold Wyatt Wingrave, of Lyme Regis, Dorset, aged seventy, has earned the highest honours in the medical profession. Yet Dr. Wingravo was stricken down at the height of his career, and his lifo since has been one long triumph over tremendous handicaps. Ho attended a diphtheria case and contracted an illness which left him blind in one eye, partly paralysed and stone deaf. Undaunted, ho continued his medical duties, and is still consulting pathologist to the London Throat and Ear Hospital. With movement and sight handicapped and unable to hear, he carried out research work into tlje connection between tuberculosis and nasal disease. His researches brought relief and hope to thousands of sufferers. Now his native city of Coventry is to make him a freeman in recognition of his achievements.
