Y.W.C.A. ACTIVITIES

l THE COMING CAMPAIGN A number of practical women sympathisers interested in the forthcoming Y.W.C.A. campaign met at the residence of Mrs. >V. A. Cooke, Heme Bay, recently. Readiness to help the effort in the Ponsonby, Heme Bay and Westmere districts was cordially expressed by those present. A committee to be known as the Heme Bay committee was appointed, with lira. W. A. Cooke as president and Miss Joyce Horsley as secretary. An offer from Mrs. M. Flynn to organise a jumble sale immediately, with the assistance of Mesdames Woods and Gallaher, was gratefully accepted. Miss A. M. Bentham, Y.W.C.A. general secretary, and Miss E. Scott, campaign organiser, explained in detail the whole Bcheme of the campaign. The committee accepted the invitation to attend the dedication service to be held in the Y.W.C.A. at the beginning of August. The following are members of the Heme Bay committee: —Mesdames J. A 0. Allum, J. H. Aitchison, H. Bray. Currie, M. Flynn, J. B. Grant, E. Gallaher, Grainger, M Jacobs. E. Jackson, H. F. Kenning, J. S. Millar, J. Matthews, Geo. Smith, Robt. A.'Row. E. Stall worthy, W. H. Wengdal, H. J. Wilderspin, Misses Dulcie Bray, Baggitt, Elsie Campbell, Runciman, M. Reed, Joyce Horsley (secretary), H. McCoskrie, Cora Veale, Joan Wilderspin, Mrs. W. A. Cooke (captain). The Tres Bon concert troupe presented their annual concert this week is the assembly hall of the Y.W.C.A. There was a very large audience, who thoroughly enjoyed the varied programme presented under the direction of Miss Edna Tullett, the president of the club. Ballets, dances, elocution, vocal and instrumental items, club swinging and dramatic sketches were enjoyed. During the interval JVfiss Bentham, the general secretary of the association, made appreciative reference to the work of the club as a concert troupe and their service to the community through their concert work.
