OTAHUHU MILK SUPPLY
INCLUSION IN CITY SCHEME BOROUGH COUNCIL'S PROTEST The action of the Otahuhu Borough Council in organising a petition protesting against the inclusion of the district in the area controlled by the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council ■was discussed at the council meeting on Thursday night. The clerk, Mr. R. W. F. Wood, reported that the petition had been circulated among residents under instructions of the previous council. A large number of signatures had been secured and the cost of conducting the petition had been £ls. The Mayor, Mr. C. R. Petrie, asked what had been the intention of the old council. Had it been to send the protest petition to the Milk Council ? The clerk said it was not drawn up in the required form for presentation to Parliament. It. could be sent to the Milk Council only. After discussion it was decided to advise the Milk Council and the local member of Parliament of the result of the petition, which would be retained by the Borough Council in the meantime.
