SALE OF THE TAINUI
Sir, —In your issue of June 26 Mr. Oliver Nicholson stated that the Tainui proved unsaleable in New Zealand, now learn that two de Havilland machines, tho same model as the l ainui. have been sold to the Cook Straits Airways. It seems to me that if the expense and great effort to yet the Tainui out of the country had been turned to keeping her here much public money and effort might have been saved, and not only would the poor guarantors have been saved the trying prospect of loss, but the men who risked their lives when they flew her from England and across the T;>sman to New Zealand, might have got some benefit. S. M. Rhodes.
