BANKRUPTCY CASES
DISCHARGES GRANTED A bankruptcy sitting of the Supreme Court was conducted by Mr. Justice Fair yesterday. In the case of Henry Walter Allen, of Onehunga, cordial manufacturer, (Mr. Turner) who sought his discharge, the official assignee, Mr. A. W. Yi atters, recommended a preliminary suspension. Mr. Turner said there was a good explanation why the bankrupt s preliminary statment of his accounts differed so much from the final accounts made up by the official assignee. In the first instance the whole of the books and papers mere with a solicitor, who was in Australia, and they were not available. The statement was made from memory. His ilonor said that even from memory a man would be expected to realise that his debts were nearer £ooo than £133. Remarking that the conditions under which the bankrupt had been trading were unsatisfactory and that he had been very casual in furnishing information to the assignee, His Honor granted discharge subject to a suspension of three months. Discharge, subject to a suspension of one month, was granted to Donald Samuel McCallum, of Paparoa, farmer (Mr. Turner). The following were granted their discharges: —David Logan Morrison, of Auckland, blacksmith (Mr. Newbery); Frederick William Danks and Leslie Gordon Danks, of Auckland, roller shutter manufacturers (Mr. Addison); Leslie Waltham Butler, of Onehunga, chemist. The following were adjudicated bankrupt:—Victor Del La Varis. of Mount Albert. salesman; Arthur Taylor, Mount Eden, manufacturer.
