SALE OF WAREHOUSE
, CUSTOMS STREET SITE PRICE OF £BOSO PAID Within a few minutes the warehouse of> P. Hayman and Company, Customs Street East, was sold at public auction yesterday to the Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, the price being £BOSO. The Ruction was held in the rooms of Samuel Vaile and Sons. Limited, there being a good attendance.
The opening bid was. for £6500, the price rising quickly by amounts of £250 and then by amounts of £IOO, to £BOOO. A ris§ of £SO closed the transaction, the general opinion being that an excellent property had been obtained for a favourable price. The warehouse, which has road access at the back, is only 60yds from Queen Street. The building, which is of brick, comprises four storeys, and a basement and includes two stairways and twolifts. The property, which has a frontage" of 99ft. to Customs Street East, is held on lease from the Auckland Harbour Board for a term expiring on Mar 3, 1948, at an annual rental of £370. with half compensation for the building at the end of the lease. A D6W lc2S6 can bo obtained if desired.
