MONOWAI'S CRUISE
VISIT TO TONGA ENJOYABLE EXCURSIONS "With over 300 excursionists on board the Union Company's steamer Monowai arrived at Nukualofa, Tonga, from Auckland on Saturday morning. Wireless advice from the vessel stated that she anchored off the wharf, and the passengers were taken ashore in boats. Throughout the day the excursionists were taken for motor trips all over the island of Tongatabu and they were also entertained by natives with a programme of dancing and singing. The weather was very fine and the sea smooth. The advice also stated that the conditions were very promising for yesterday's visit to the island of Vavau, where the sightseeing will include an inspection of the famous Swallows Cave. From the Monowai's cruise will extend to Apia, Jxjvuka and Suva. She will leave Suva next Sunday morning for Auckland, where she is due on July 24.
