ATHENIAN CLUB
Another evening of revelry saw members of the Athenian Club enjoying themselves with top lints and monocles, tiaras and gold lorgnettes at tho " Burlingtoj Bertie " night which was held in the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society's hall on Saturday. The guests and members were received by the host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Wright, the latter wearing a frock of black finger-print ring velvet. Representatives of the Dunedin club were present. A varied programme was arranged and included:—Songs by Miss Kay Christie and Mr. Geoffrey Colledge, a Marionette Show by Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Bailey, whistling solos by Mr. Purdy, and conjuring by Mr. Harris. An opening scene was taken part in bv Miss Norah Kirkby, Miss Noni Wright, Miss Edi:a Craig, Mr. Jim Foley, Mr. Wilfred Wright, Mr. Charles Anderson, Mr. John Crichton-Smith, Mr. C. Scale and Mr. Jack Parsons. Among those present were:—Mrs. Arthur Roberts, Mrs. Clifton Lewis, Mrs. H. Wilkins, Mrs. A. Don, Mrs. C. H.
