LAUNCH ASHORE
DISCOVERY AT MOTUTAPU NO CLUE TO OWNERSHIP The finding of a motor-launch ashore in the north-west corner of Station Bay,. Motutapu, was reported to the Auckland police last evening. The launch is stated to bo 22ft. in length and of old design. It has a counter stern and a straight stem, and has apparently been used with a sail. The engine is of Daimler manufacture. There is no name on the vessel and nothing which might indicate the owner. The hull is reported to bo in fairly good condition, but the main fittings have been removed, including the propeller. The launch could be towed off at high water, but it is thought it will be broken up if the wind blows into the bay from the east. No vessel of the description given has been reported missing.
