SWIMMING
PRESENTATION OF PRIZES EVENTS WON AT NORTH SHORE Prizes won in open competitions organised by the North Shore Amateur Swimming and Life-saving Club last summer were presented at the club's annual dance on Saturday evening by the Mayor of Devonport, Mr. H. F. W. Meikle. He congratulated the club on its continued growth and success and referufd to important achievements by members. The club's patron, Mr. E, H. Little, also complimented the officials and members on the results of their efforts. Resides handing trophies to swimmers. Mr. M'eikle presented to one of the officials, Mr. W. Elwarth, a pipe and the club's blazer. These gifts were in recognition of the services rendered for several years by Mr. Elwarth, a delegate to the Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association. Swimmers receiving prizes were as follows:—Yvonne Harper, Trevor Titchener, S. Spencer, Gwen Anderson, N. Forno, Glenn Lowther, K. Buchanan. D. Wall, E. Stevens, W. J. Stevens, W. Johnson. Sonia Stock, Miss Mona Leydon. Mies Nancy Ludlow, Miss L. Waddell, T. E. Rowell.
