MENUHIN CONCERTS
The opening concert of the famous violinist Yehudi Menuhin will be given in the Town Hall to-morrow night. The Governor-General, Viscount Galway, and Viscountess Galway will be nresent. A particular request is made for patrons to be seated at eight o'clock. Five minutes later the doors will bo closed and no one admitted until the conclusion of the first item on the programme. Yehudi Menuhin will present a wide selection of numbers, including the famous Devil's Trill sonata by Tartini-Kreisler and the Bach Chaconne. Mendelssohn's concerto in E minor should mako a popular appea] and other numbers are Caprice nnd Habanera by Sarasnte; Flight of the Bumble Bee, by Korsakoff-Hart-mann; The Maiden with the Flaxen Hair, by Debussy; and The Dance of the Goblins, by Bassini. Marcel Gazelle, the brilliant young Belgian pianist, will be the accompanist. The final concerts will be given on Thursday and Saturday nights. Booking arrangements are advertised.
