FUNDS FOR Y.M.C.A.
ANNUAL STREET APPEAL WELFARE WORK FOR YOUTH The annual street appeal for funds to further the work of the Young Men's Christian Association in Auckland will be held in the city and suburbs to-morrow. The organisation has an impressive record of service m the field of welfare work for the youth, of the city. Each year 1000 boys come under its influence, and its activities include vocational guidance, recreational organisation, religious training and social assistance. In the Grey Lynn branch alone, where particularly fine work is being carried out, there are 200 members, while 300 boys annually attend the Y.M.C.A. camp at Hunua. In extending a guiding hand to boys who have passed through the Juvenile Court the Y.M.C.A.'s work is universally re ' spected. In common with many other organisations, its operations are re* stricted for lack of funds, and considerable expectations are based on annua), street appeal.
