/FEDERAL CABINET MEETING IN PERTH (STATE AND FEDERATION ' PAST DIFFICULTIES EFFORT TO REMEDY By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received June 25. 7 35 p.m.} PERTH. June 25 Eight Federal Ministers, accompanied by 25 officials, arrived in Perth to-day to conduct the first meeting of the Federal Cabinet ever held here. The acting-Prime Minister, Dr. Earle Page, in a speech at a civic reception, said: "We have come to W T estern Australia on this occasion to try to learn where we may cure any defects that unfortunately have been apparent. " Western Australia's progress since the federation has been phenomenal and I have every confidence m its future." Dr. Page announced that he will submit a scheme for co-operation between the Commonwealth and the States in the related activities conducted by the different Governments. It was an expansion of the Loan Council principle, proposing the formation of councils Consisting of. Ministers and departmental heads, to contjol different activities in order to develop them on a national basis.
