Pressure is high over Australia. The indications are lor moderate to strong winds generally and of gale force in many places, westerly and hacking to south-westerly north of Cook Strait, elsewhere southerlies. Seas rough to high, in the eastern Tasman Sea, strong southerly wind to gales with rough to high seas. The weather should Ito cold, unsettled and squally generally with intermittent rain. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland. —A strong westerly wind and frequent heavy rain squalls, which at times reached gale force, were experienced yesterday. During the evening the wind decreased to a light breeze and there was very little rain, but the conditions continued to be cloudy and threatening, with thunder and lightning to the south-east.
