GISBORNE RAILWAY
NEGOTIATIONS CONTINUE [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] GISBORNE, Monday Satisfaction with the progress in negotiations for the completion and operation of the Napier-Gisborne railway by private financial groups was expressed by Mr. W. D. Lysnar to-day. Communications were entered into last week by cable between Mr. Lysnar and financial groups in London which authorised him to take up the matter of the railway with the New Zealand Government. Ho stated to-dav that while he could not discloso the naturo of the communications he felt satisfied that matters were going well and that there was some basis for the expectation that further developments of a concrete character would take place in the near future.
