Operations linve boon quiet for the last two weeks, but trainers are busy preparing their teams for Trcntham next month. On the trial grass Refresher and Glenvane were associated in a good gallop over seven furlongs in 1.34 3-5. They moved evenly all the way and finished full of running. Refresher is standing up to his work in good style, while Glenvane, who has not raced einco the Egniont meeting in May, hit out in his usual bold fashion. R. | Barlow intends to take this pair to Trentham.

Orapai demonstrated that he haß come through his autumn racing in good stylo by easily beating Amyril and Terry over five furlongs in 1.51. The other pair were no use to him at any stage and finished several lengths behind. Orapai appreciates soft tracks and hit out in attractive fashion. lie has been nominated for Levin, but- is likely to he reserved for Trentliani. Jerry, a three-year-old filly by Nigger Minstrel from IToroinea, shaped liiceli' and may lie useful later on. She joined up with R. -Toh nson's team about a fortnight ago. The Ritapnpa mare Ngapapa schooled satisfactorily over four hurdles, taking the Inst two in good style. The Tiger was schooled on Saturday morning, but. his display was not impressive, and he fell rather heavily at the second fence. He is not likely to be schooled again until H. Dulieu returns from Hawke's Bay.
