WOMAN PIPE SMOKER
Mrs Mary Collins, an eighty-nine-vear-old Hull widow, was severely burned recently through smoking a pipe in bed. Her niece was sitting downstairs in the house when she noticed a smell of burning. She went upstairs and found Mrs. Collins sitting up in bed. The bed was smouldering and her aunt's clothing was alight. Mrs. Collins explained that she was lighting her pipe when the match slipped from hor fingers to the bed.
