A SOLDIER'S PLIGHT

Sir, —I note with pleasure your championing the " Digger " in tho Herald of Tuesday, June 18. Perhaps red tape will be cast aside for once and justice be done to this returned soldier and his family. What a fine thing if your suggestion should become a fact, i.e., "that there should be means whereby cases of progressive disability, amply testified to by private medical opinion, can bo dealt with quickly, outside of the rules of ordinary procedure." I cannot understand why our representatives in the House should allow other Dominions to lead them in the care olf their returned men. This was not the ease in 1914, and onward to the final reinforcements. 4/Bar.
