TEMPORARY IMPROVEMENT RAIN LATER IN THE SOUTH The weather report and forecast for New Zealand issued last evening by the Government meteorologist was as follows : —An anti-cvclone of moderate in-"" tensity covers New Zealand, while a depression is located over the western Tasman Sea. The forecast is for light to moderate winds variable at first, but northerlies gradually prevailing and becoming strong about and south of Cook Strait. Seas in New Zealand waters smooth to moderate generally but rising later about Cook and Fouveaux Straits. Eastern Tasman Sea: Freshing northerly winds. Seas smooth to moderate, but rising.
