Lyons, announcing that an agreement had been reached whereby the whole of Aus- I tralia's production of export mutton, lamb and beef in the July-Septem-ber period could be shipped to the United Kingdom. This agreement had been< reached pending the negotiation of a long-term agreement. Official estimates of Australian meat exports for the third quarter, said Dr. Page, were.— Mutton and lamb.—4»o.ooocwt. Chilled beef. —I4o,ooocwt. Frozen beef and veal. —710,000cwt. LONDON DISCUSSIONS PROBLEM NOT SETTLED DOMINION AND REGULATION LONDON. Juno 19 The British and Dominion Ministers and officials reassembled this afternoon but without settling the mpat problem. The British representatives earlier had met Argentine officials, who submitted a reply to Britain's modified proposals. The British Ministers referred these to the Dominions, whose experts will immediately examine them in committee. Argentina's reply suggests adjustments which present difficulties to the Dominions. At a luncheon tendered to the Prime Minister of New Zealand and the Finance Minister. Messrs. G. W. Forbes and J. G. Coates, by the National Farmers' Union. Mr. Forbes said the result of the Ottawa regulations had satisfied New Zealand, but. the prices of beef and dqiry products were giving grave concern. It was because New Zealand recognised the necessity for profitable prices that she had agreed to the regulation of the meat market in the interests of the British and Dominion farmers alike.
