LORRIES DAMAGE ROAD
HIGHWAY NEAR FOXTON [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION] PALMERSTON NORTH, Thursday A decision to close the main highway at Whirokino, south of Foxton, to all traffic in flood time was made by the Manawatu County Council, following reports that heavy lorries, although able to get through, did considerable damage to the soft surface.
