TO-MORROW'S MATCHES PROGRAMME FOR EDEN PARK MARIS! TO PLAY OTAHUHU The Auckland Ilugby T T nion's senior championship competition will be continued to-morrow afternoon and, in view of the closeness of the leading teams in the matter of points, the matches in which they will participate will he followed with more than passing interest. The curtain-raiser at Eden Park will he between Ponsonby and Technical Old Bovs. The teams have each gained live championship points to date, which would suggest there is little between them. With the presence of the Solomon brothers, however, Ponsonby will be an improved side, and it looks likely to win. On the other hand, Technical is a team able to spring a surprise when it is least expected.
The chief contest will be between the Otahuhu nnd Marist teams, and a keen game is anticipated. Mnrisi's strength lie? in its pack, and with the Hudley brothers in the front row, the aide should be assured of possession of the ball. So far as Otahuhu is concerned, a great deal appears to depend upon the form rliowu by Hedge, who disappointed in the All Black trials.
With Coiner back behind the Grammar scrum, this tenm should prove too strong for Manukau at the Show Grounds. The suburban fifteen, however, is always capable of putting up a etont, resistance and giving a bright display. Grafton and College Rifles will meet on No. 2 ground at Eden Park, and on the season's form Grafton should not have much difficulty* in winning. University hns a bye.
